FIAWA’s work program is totally different in every way as it does not intend to do any work currently being done by any other organisation.
FIAWA is represented by all Associations and Groups of Indian heritage to achieve common objectives and deal with community concerns across the Indian diaspora in Western Australia. We invite all leaders and community minded organisations to come together, find common ground and take collective measures to direct the future of Indians in WA. We will create a centralised database to assist all Indians in WA.
FIAWA is absolutely different from all other community organisations as the aim and objectives are totally different. FIAWA will work towards ensuring that all Indians are respected in Australia, and our future generations will have a common voice across all Indian diaspora. It is collective community input with a bottom up approach, and not that of a select few individuals, which will decide how we proceed further to build and develop the future of Indians in Western Australia.
Be the representative united body for all member associations, groups and people of Indian heritage in Western Australia.
Develop an accurate database of the Indian Community in Western Australia to help and share information on all Indian activities in a calendar year.
Act as a channel of communication between the Indian community and the Commonwealth Government, Western Australian Government or the Indian Government, on political, welfare, social and economic matters
To establish and provide directly or through arrangements with other agencies services including but not limited to bereavement support, domestic violence, student support, old age support and guidance for financial hardship.
To co-ordinate, encourage and foster cultural, sporting and social activities of member organisations, where reasonably possible.
To establish such facilities and to do all such other lawful activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects of FIAWA.
Provide a platform to promote trade between Western Australia and India.
